Charles Gaudet is the author of The Predictable Profits Playbook: The Entrepreneurs Guide to Dominating Any Market and Staying on Top and host of The Beyond 7-Figures Podcast. He’s been an entrepreneur since the age of 4, created his first multi-million dollar business at 24, and has helped others generate millions with his strategies.

In this episode, Charles shares how he helps growth-minded business owners and CEOs reach their next million in revenue and beyond through data-based decisions, rigorously tested strategies and deep insight into existing opportunities.

Check out these episode highlights:

  • 01:18 – Charles’ ideal client: We work mostly with small and medium-sized businesses who have a sales team. And often the sales team is field-based, meaning that they travel from client to client.
  • 01:41 – Problem he helps solve: A lot of business owners would like to understand what their sales teams are doing, their own activity, but doing the manual work of data entry in a CRM is just a soul-sucking experience
  • 02:11 – Typical symptoms that clients do before reaching out to Charles: Well, there are usually two symptoms, either you don’t know what the sales team is doing, or they’re spending too much time updating CRM.
  • 02:54 – Common mistakes people make when trying to solve that problem: Well, the traditional way to solve this problem is to bring up everybody who’s involved in the sales process or perhaps have a large meeting. Where you force every person in the company or in the group to sit around and talk about all of your different potential customers, and it’s a big waste of time. And the sales team hates that and everybody gets really bored.
  • 04:33 – Charles Valuable Free Action(VFA): The advice that I would give, which relates to that is to make sure that people are doing enough follow-ups. I know it feels like when you have a lead coming in that you’re reaching out a lot to somebody. But reaching out a lot, even more, is really required to convert them into a customer. So, don’t feel like you’re not reaching out too much. You push through that and reach out more.
  • 06:28 – Charles Valuable Free Resource(VFR): Download The 44 Best Sales Tips of All Time: https://spiro.ai/blog/
  • 07:32 – Q: “What is our process for actually growing a business or formalized process to get the results that we’ve got?” A: Over the years, over a decade of doing this and traveling the world studying billionaire entrepreneurs, broken down into three things, it’s called OSI. Optimization, optimize what you’re doing. Systemize what you’re doing, so you’re creating more leverage in your business. And the last one is innovating. This is where you’re breaking models, and you’re recreating new ones for breakthrough profits. Boom. Optimization, systemization, and innovation. There you go.

He’s an entrepreneur at the age of four, which is incredible. He’s created his first multimillion-dollar business at 24 and has helped others generate millions with his strategies. Charles, it’s a pleasure to have you on the show today, it’s fantastic you’ve joined us.

Charles Gaudet: 1:03
Well, thank you for having me.

Travis Bennett: 1:04
Today, we’re going to be talking about “How to Generate Predictable Profits in Your Business”, and we’ve got seven minutes and Charles is going to explain everything. So, I’m going to start our timer and we’re going to jump into question number one. Charles, who is your ideal client?

Charles Gaudet: 1:18
Whoo. All right, let’s rock and roll. So, we currently work with people that range anywhere from startup to our largest client at the moment is at 26 and a half million. But if you’re looking for our ideal client, they typically fall within the mark of anywhere from that’s a, you know, one to three million is usually where we see the center of the bell curve.

Travis Bennett: 1:36
Okay, perfect. And for these clients, what’s the problem that you’re solving for them?

Charles Gaudet: 1:41
That’s usually one of three reasons.

The first one is, how can you help me grow my business faster? So, they’re already doing well, they just want to know how can I grow my business faster? The other one is, how can I make my business less dependent on me? And then the third one is, how can I generate more predictability in my revenue? Some months a feast, other months are famine, how do we get more consistency?

Travis Bennett:2:04
Perfect. So that’s building into the predictability of this whole system.

Charles Gaudet: 2:08
Ahh, you got it.

Travis Bennett: 2:09
There you go. So, six minutes left. Question number three, what are the typical symptoms that people experience when they’re facing this problem in their business?

Charles Gaudet: 2:18

Well, generally, people are able to bring their business up to a certain point because of hard work. And usually, it’s they’ve generated their revenue because of word of mouth and referrals. And that seems to be about it, then they come to realize that it’s very difficult to scale word of mouth and referrals. So, trying to figure out how do I go beyond that? And that’s usually when they come knocking.

Travis Bennett: 2:37
Gotcha. So, five and a half minutes, we’re doing really good for time. When people start to, they start to realize that they have this problem, right? They’re going, I want to grow but we’ve got all these, you know, word of mouth is only getting us so far. What are the mistakes that they make when they start trying to do this themselves?

Charles Gaudet: 2:54
That’s a really good question. Now, if you go on the internet, you type in how to grow a business. You’re going to come up with roughly, last time I checked, 1.17 billion pages of resources for how to grow business. There’re 40,000 books on Amazon for how to grow a business. You know, there’s any number of resources available, 6780 something percent increase in marketing technology since I started working with people on how to grow a business. So, it’s not a matter of, you know, options, you have plenty of options available to you. It comes down to the method by which you grow a business. People are kind of jumping from one step to another, they’re looking for latest shiny penny. But if you’ve already generated leads, if you’re already generating traffic, you’re already generating sales, you already have everything within your business to take it over to that next million. So as far as a common mistake, it’s trying to do too much. It’s feeling like there’s a one size fits all solution. You got to kind of look in your business, identify the sources of momentum in your business, and then create leverage off that momentum. And that’s how you do it.

Travis Bennett: 3:54
So basically, doubling down on what’s working for you without basically putting in 10% effort in jumping to the next thing and 10% effort jumping to the next thing.

Charles Gaudet: 4:03

Yeah, do more of what’s working and either eliminate or improve what’s not working.

It’s not sexy man, but this is how we’ve taken companies to the Inc 5000 and so forth.

Travis Bennett: 4:12
I don’t know, that Inc. 5000 is pretty sexy to me, right? I wouldn’t mind putting my business in there, you know, that’s a sexy thing to be. Three minutes 38 seconds on the clock. Question number five, what piece of advice can you give the audience, anyone listening in, that they can actually start improving on this problem today?

Charles Gaudet: 4:33

Well, it would start with identifying what is working in the business and establishing KPIs around what’s working.

And what we do for every single one of our clients is we get them trained into this new habit of starting every day by asking themselves the question, what’s the most important thing that I need to do today in order to move the needle on my business? And so, it’s really directing focus, once you know what’s working in your business, and it’s a matter of directing focus to what is the most important thing that you need to be focusing on right now to move the needle in the business. If you look at over the shoulder of most entrepreneurs, you’re going to find out that they’re very, very busy people. But at the end of the day, they finish the day and they go, man, I feel like I got nothing done. They could have worked at 12, you know, 14-hour day and go, I feel like I got nothing done. And that’s because they weren’t focused on the most important thing that they need to be doing.

Travis Bennett: 5:23
Okay, that’s very good advice. I know even in my experience running businesses that you can’t spin the wheels like that, right? It’s very easy to get caught up in all the things that are pulling your focus, but at the same time, not focusing on the right things in your business.

Charles Gaudet: 5:39
Especially when you have one guru barking you got to spend time on SEO, you got to build webinars, you got to do more content, you got to blog more, you got to do this and that. All of a sudden, they realized or they think they have to do everything. So, they’re doing a little bit of everything and ultimately, they’re diluting their attention. And delusion, you know, delusion is not the solution. You got to find some way to just really narrowly focus in. I can tell you people who have made eight figures on direct mail on Facebook, on Google and everything. Eight figures on just about every channel, you just need to have that focus.

Travis Bennett: 6:10
Gotcha. So, then a minute 45, we’re doing good for time. What is one valuable free resource that we can direct people, all the people listening in today, where they can go to get more information about this problem, maybe learn a little bit more about what it is you do and start improving this in their business?

Charles Gaudet: 6:28
Sure. Well, I guess if you go to predictableprofits.com, we have free resources, we’re always putting up more content whatnot. So, you know, that’s the first thing that I would do. Of course, we welcome anybody to jump on the phone with us. There’re buttons there to schedule a free strategy session. We don’t believe in the hard sell. We do believe in building relationships and creating a lot of value. And so, you’ll see that through our content that we put out there. And that’s where I can recommend people to go, predictableprofits.com

Travis Bennett: 6:56
Okay. So, predictableprofits.com, you can grab his free strategy session. They can also start devouring all of your content and basically learn everything they need to know. And to start putting this in place in their business. That’s great. 45 seconds left; this has been an awesome podcast. Question number seven, final one, what’s the one thing I should have asked you, but I haven’t had a chance to yet?

Charles Gaudet: 7:16
I would probably say, what is our process for actually growing a business or formalized process to get the results that we’ve got?

Travis Bennett: 7:25
Okay.

Charles Gaudet: 7:25
I’ll give the answer?

Travis Bennett: 7:26
Yeah, of course.

Charles Gaudet: 7:28
All right, really quick. In like 30 seconds.

Travis Bennett: 7:30
22 seconds.

Charles Gaudet: 7:32
We realized you know, over the years, over a decade of doing this and traveling the world studying billionaire entrepreneurs, broken down into three things, it’s called OSI.

Travis Bennett: 7:55
There we go. Charles, it’s been a pleasure to have you on the call today. Thank you so much for your time.

Charles Gaudet: 7:59
All right. Thank You

Travis Bennett: 8:00
And cheers everyone for listening in. Have a great day everyone.
